The Parish Nursing Ministry of Catholic Charities of Central and Northern Missouri extends the healing ministry of Jesus Christ throughout our 38 county diocese.
With the support of the pastor and congregation, trained Parish Nurses use a holistic approach for care by addressing the spiritual, emotional and physical well-being of individuals and congregations in the safe, familiar and comfortable environment of a person’s faith community.
Our Parish Nurses appreciate that all persons are sacred and must be treated with respect and dignity as they advocate with compassion and mercy.
The Ministry is accomplished through the provision of professional, onsite medical and health evaluations, health care educational program, navigational assistance, and individual case management.
Primary roles of the Parish Nurse also include:
- Integrator of health and faith
- Health educator, counselor and advocate
- Referral source and advocate
- Advance Care planning facilitation
